Errors & retractions
Rules governing interaction between the editorial office, the publisher and author teams when errors are found before and after publication.
These rules were developed in accordance with the publication-ethics standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. An error is understood as any factual, methodological, bibliographic, stylistic or technical inconsistency in a journal item that could affect the perception, reproduction or practical use of the published research.
Classification of errors
Technical errors
Typos and spelling/punctuation errors made during editorial preparation that do not affect the article's scientific content.
Factual errors
Inaccuracies in data, facts, dates or references to regulations that do not distort the study's conclusions.
Methodological errors
Significant inaccuracies in the description of research methods that could affect the interpretation of results.
Serious violations
Plagiarism, fabrication and falsification of data, duplicate publication, improper authorship and other breaches of publication ethics.
Errors found before publication
If an author discovers a significant error in a work that has not yet been published, they must immediately notify the editor and help correct it. If errors are found during editorial preparation, the editorial office notifies the author of the nature of the errors and allows no more than 14 calendar days for corrections.
Before publication, the author is sent the typeset material for review. The author must check the text for errors and send confirmation or comments within 5 business days; if there is no response within this period, the material is published in the version prepared by the publisher.
Response measures after publication
Correction (erratum)
Applied for technical or minor factual errors made by the editorial office or publisher that do not affect the study's conclusions. Published in the next issue with a reference to the original publication.
Corrigendum
Applied for an author's error that does not distort the scientific value of the material. The corrigendum text is agreed with the author and published in the next issue.
Retraction
Carried out when a publication is found to contain serious flaws or unreliable data — improper borrowing, duplication, falsification or fabrication of data, incorrect authorship, or a concealed conflict of interest.
Notification procedure
Anyone who discovers an error in a published item may notify the editorial office by e-mail, indicating the journal name, year, issue and page numbers, the nature of the error and, if applicable, the proposed correction. The editorial office reviews the notification within 10 business days and informs the person who reported it of the decision taken.
After retraction, the article and its description remain on the journal's website as part of the relevant issue, but the electronic version of the text is marked «RETRACTED» along with the retraction date. Information about retracted articles is submitted to the ANRI Ethics Council and to the Scientific Electronic Library (elibrary.ru); retracted articles are excluded from RSCI.
